This race is hosted by Camp Bighorn, located in the amazing mountains of the Lolo National Forest just north of Missoula, Montana. Your team of four* will bike rugged mountain trails, rappel a 300 foot cliff, and paddle the Clark Fork River.

Four people are required for a team. However, if you are only one or even two, sign up as individuals. We will hopefully be able to supply additional teammates to make this race a possibility for you!

Race Cost$198 (includes all lodging costs, 7 meals, and race elements/equipment).

Note: Race cost will increase 10 days before the race dates.

Fund Raising Goal$500/racer

This year the Montana race is raising funds to help JAARS send motorbikes and train individuals to drive these motorbikes to their translation locations.  Learn about how motorbikes for translators contributes to the process of Bible translation. 

Here is a brief outline of what to expect for the Race weekend.

Friday Evening

6:00–7:00 p.m.  Registration

7:00 p.m. Evening program and mandatory orientation with focus on safety and Bible translation stories

Saturday, Race Day 1

7:30 a.m.    Eat breakfast and pack lunch for the day

8:30 a.m.    Assemble at starting line (Finish time depends on how fast your team is)

6:00 p.m.    Supper and cleanup

7:00 p.m.    Evening program, review of the day’s activities, more orientation, and stories on Bible translation

Sunday, Race Day 2

 The schedule is very similar to that of Race Day 1. We expect everyone to be back at the finish line around 3:00 p.m. We do a final wrap up with awards and last word of challenge and end by 4:00 pm so people can get on the road.

Sleeping Arrangements

There are heated, dormitory-style, multiple-person rooms for men, and the same type of accommodations for women.

A Typical Lunch

Two pieces of flatbread with assorted toppings, two cookies/granola bars, carrot sticks, a fruit bar, and an apple/orange

Not enough food for you and/or your team? You may want to bring extra food such as energy bars and energy drinks. Please make sure that you bring plenty of water bottles or other containers, enough for more than two liters per person per day. Depending on the race course, there may not be adequate opportunity to refill your water bottles. Your race coordinator will give you further details.

*Age requirement: must be 16 years or older; anyone under 18 must have written parental consent, an adult must be on the team, and all participants will need to sign the code of conduct form.
